I was Born in Jambi, Southern Sumatera on February 19, I was raised in a small village where I could smell the aromatic-rubber-scent every morning in front of my house. It came from an abandoned rubber factory from Japanese colonial [if you are curious]. There were floods in rainy season as well, not to mention there were snakes in the backyard and mosquitoes if my mum didn’t light a pair of "obat nyamuk bakar" when I was sleeping.

I spent my childhood in a very tropical area, I liked fishing, climbing trees and playing with toys I made from surroundings. My fave was catapult that I used to hunt House Sparrows. When I am grown up I realised this is a wrong thing to do and I am using House Sparrow [burung gereja] as my pen name ever since. You can't pet a House Sparrow. That's why.

I graduated from English Literature Faculty. I speak fluent English, Indonesian and Southern Malayu languange. Although I am very passionate to write, I choose to work professionally as a designer, Writing is fun in my leisure times. Other things I do is playing violin or doing pencil sketch in my sketch book.

Currently I am living in South Jakarta, working as a fulltime-freelance designer.
